Salvation

Realize you are a sinner.
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10). “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). It is true that some are greater sinners than others, but also that we all are great sinners!

Realize that there is a penalty for your sins.
“For the wages of sin is death….” (Romans 6:23) Yes, death! Present spiritual death, which is separation from God, and future eternal death, which is being cast into the lake of fire. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15)

Realize that in spite of your sinful state God loves you anyway, so much that He gave His sinless Son to suffer the penalty of your sins.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). On the cross of Calvary, Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God died in our pace. He is the only one that could die for the sins of others, for He is the only one that had no sin of his own to die for!

Realize you cannot save yourself.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8,9). You can never get good enough or do good things to deserve salvation. You need a Savior, and there is only one: Jesus Christ!

Realize that you must through faith receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
“But as many as receiveth him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12)

WILL YOU RECEIVE CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOR?
If so, call upon Him now, admitting your sinfulness & helplessness, but trusting in Him for salvation! “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

Sample Prayer
Lord, I know I am a helpless, hell-deserving sinner. There is nothing about me that merits your love, yet I know that you love me anyway, so much that you have given your sinless Son to die in my place. I am sorry for my sins, but grateful for your love. With all of my heart, I here and now trust completely in your Son, Jesus Christ, as my personal Savior! Amen.
