Sunday School

First Baptist Church is dedicated to providing a solid foundation where the children can deepen their relationship with Christ and know the Bible. To achieve this goal we use the Joyful Life Sunday School program from Pensacola Christian College. We believe that teaching the Bible is a great honor and a solemn responsibility. To aid in teaching these valuable lessons the Sunday School teachers are equipped with age appropriate materials. Not only does each lesson present a Bible story, but also includes Bible truths which teach and review basic doctrine through questions children can understand and remember. As they answer simple questions such as Who is Jesus? Who wrote the Bible? and Is all of the Bible true?, children learn the fundamentals of the Christian faith and grow in their knowledge of God and His Word.

A life that is focused on God is one that is full of joy - and that is the focus of the Joyful Life Sunday school curriculum. The Joyful Life goal is not to entertain, but to teach the Bible in a way that children will learn and remember throughout life. Joyful Life believes that the Bible itself is "entertaining" and, what is more important, that it is relevant to our lives today. Centered on the Word of God, this program not only interests children through colorful visuals and exciting Bible narratives, but it also educates them in the ways of the Lord and molds their lives for Christ. Youth are visually stimulated by teaching posters, charts, and visuals. The program is designed to build up their faith and equip them to effectively present their beliefs to others.
