Our Pastor

Our pastor, Ralph Nevin, is a native of Brandywine in southern Maryland. After accepting Christ as a senior in high school, he surrendered his life to full-time Christian service, and went on to graduate from Bob Jones University. Pastor Nevin's ministry experience includes six years of teaching high school Bible at Arlington Baptist School in Baltimore; four years as an assistant pastor in Westminster, MD; twenty combined years of pastoring two churches in Pennsylvania and New York; and seven years as our pastor here at First Baptist Church.
Pastor Nevin shares the ministry with his wife Debra. She is gifted in communicating with the deaf and ministers by interpreting the services and teaching the Deaf Sunday School Class.
Pastor has a gift for teaching the Word of God in an understandable way and makes it practical for everyday life. He also takes the great commission seriously, realizing that he has the burden and responsibility of sharing the Gospel with the world and those around him.
In his spare time he enjoys traveling with Deb, refereeing high school and rec league sports, hunting, and of course fishing and crabbing! The Nevins are in the empty nest stage of their lives. They have raised three sons--Bryan, Jeff and Marc--who have in turn given them eight grandchildren to enjoy.
