Men’s Ministries

The opportunities for men to get involved are not limited to the events listed below! All men are encouraged to participate in some teaching ministry, such as in the nursery, Sunday school, junior church, or AWANA clubs. Men with the proven gift of teaching and have an interest in speaking before large audiences are offered opportunities to speak in the Sunday evening church services. Those with an interested in music are invited to join the choir, or use their talents by singing or playing special music. Mechanically-minded men are encouraged to offer their services to the trustees who can usually find something for them to do.

Sportsmen’s Night – Saturday, February 1, 2020

This has become an event not to miss in Calvert County. We have over 330 men, women and children in attendance for this evening recognizing the love of the outdoors and the hunt. Many local companies donate door prizes.

Men’s 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

Come be a part of this annual tradition at First Baptist Church where the county’s elite basketball players compete in a competitive 3-on-3 basketball tournament. It is an exciting event where you will be challenged both physically and spiritually.

The 3-on-3 basketball tournament typically takes place in March. More information coming soon! Click here for more information.

Men’s Shootout

Every Spring & Fall, First Baptist Church has a Men’s Shootout. Before heading out, we have an instructional class to ensure that all safety guidelines are discussed and any questions are answered. Men enjoy shooting a wide variety including riffles, pistols, and trap shooting. This event is a great time of sport and fellowship.

Men’s Softball

First Baptist Church is a member of the Calvert County Men’s Christian Softball League. The league is open to men ages 15- 90, and utilizes a 6′-12′ arc, slow pitch format. FBC currently has one team in the league. Each season the FBC men take part in a season comprised of approximately 12-15 double-header games against various churches throughout Southern Maryland. The season eventually culminates into a competitive, two-day tournament in early August where the season champion is determined. First
Baptist Church had the honor of being Tournament Champions in 2009!

Joining the men’s softball team is a wonderful opportunity for Christ’s followers to fellowship as believers and provide sound examples to our community of what an everyday Christian lives and looks like. It also enables us to welcome new believers and young Christians into our fellowship and hopefully eventually our Church family.
